Fine Woodturnings
"I have a passion for working with wood. I get great enjoyment out of bringing the beauty of each piece if wood to the forefront
through the creative process. It's a joy to take what some would consider just a good piece of firewood and open up the beauty
within. Nothing quite allows that opportunity the way wood turning does. When I begin to turn a piece of wood, I never know what
the form will be or what the final product will look like. Each piece is unique and I seek to bring out the best of both my skills
and the natural beauty of the medium."
"I gather my material from many sources. I live on the Oregon coast and often find unique raw materials scattered on the beaches
and river banks near my home. I don' believe in taking live trees, but look for salvage from storm damage, unique pieces from
tree removal services, regeneration of fruit orchards and unusable material form logging operations. In this way, I can bring new
life to something that may be disposed of otherwise."
These pieces require no special care.
Dusting with a dry cloth is all the care they need.
